He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Schumann and Mary Schumann (Bertsos); his wife Diane Schumann (Gauthier); and his son Brad. He is survived by: his daughter Dawn Northrup (Richard); his brother Dennis Schumann (Beverly); his grandsons, Colin and Graham Northrup; and his sister-in-law Kay Baker. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
