We are sad to announce that on April 27, 2024, at the age of 71, Donald Joseph LaForest of Whitmore Lake, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlotte LaForest (Romer) and Jim LaForest; his brother Jim LaForest; and his brother-in-law Bob Salzwedel. He is survived by: his wife Rita LaForest; his children, Dr. Jessica LaForest (Nick), William LaForest (Amanda) and Kevin Hayes (Robyn); his siblings, Jerome LaForest, Kathy Theodore (John), Patricia Salzwedel, Thomas LaForest and Mary Lou Trela (Jim); his grandchildren, Wyatt, Meighan, Amanda, Ashile and River; and his great grandchild Hadley Grace. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Don's name.
