He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Carstens and Lillian Carstens. He is survived by: his children, Timothy Carstens (Ruthann), Sharon Kendall (Steven), Curtis Carstens and Douglas Carstens (Marilee); his siblings, Nancy Schroeder (Arthur) and Kathleen Palmer (Peter); his grandchildren, Eden, Jesse, Travis, Natalie, David and Amber; and his great grandchildren, Allison, Jace, Cameron, Aubrey, Kiah and Emory.
