He was predeceased by: his parents, George Bowen and Clara Bowen (VanOort); and his brothers, George Bowen, Robert Bowen, Ronald Bowen and Richard Bowen.

He is survived by: his children, Brian Bowen (Michelle), Ted Bowen (Kristi), Kurt Bowen (Tracey) and Holly Willer (Nick); his close friend Grace Gonyon; and his siblings, James Bowen (Latricia), Walt Bowen (Nancy), Tom Bowen (Wendy), Dan Bowen (Deb), Virginia Magnason, Clara Sue Knollinger (Bill) and Rosemary Reinhold (Raymond). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
