He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Mero and Nellie Mero (Baker); his stepparents, Kate Mero and Andy Kulich; his daughter Renee Litwaitis; and his brothers, Everett and Phillip Mero.

He is survived by: his wife Wilma Jeannette Ice; his children, Susan Vert (Ralph) and Gregory Mero; and his siblings, Theresa Waller (Don), Jim, Evelyn Mero and Bernetta Burstyn. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
