He was predeceased by: his parents, Norbert Belen and Marian Belen (Wieber); his brother Thomas Belen; and his siblings-in-law, Edward Thelen (Skip), Richard Whitney (Dick), Don Whitney, Tom Edlin, Ted Edlin, Anita Belen, Vera Belen, Marylou Whitney, Joyce Edlin and Carol Edlin.

He is survived by: his wife Judith Belen; his daughters, Carri Fox (Dennis) and Carisa Beard (Kirk); his grandchildren, Shanna Thelen (Joshua), Holly Simon (Scott), Benjamin Fox (Taylor), Matthew Fox, Grace Fox, Kate Fox, Alexis Visser, Jordan Visser, Tori Beard and Preston Beard (Lauren); his sister Karen Thelen; and his sisters-in-law, Peg Whitney and Sally Edlin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
