She was predeceased by: her husband Hilary Simon. She is survived by: her parents, Julius Thelen and Rosa Thelen; her children, Barbara Chea, Diane Casari (Jerry), Janet Simon (Chris Oehring), Judy Gwozdek (Thomas), Cheryl Bowie (Tony), Steve Simon (Jody) and Neal Simon (Nancy); her sibling Gladys Armbrustmacher (James); and her sisters-in-law, Mary Simon, Anne Thelen, Rita Thelen and Janice Thelen. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Westphalia Fire Department, Hospice of Michigan, and the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Thelma.
