He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Thelen and Irene Thelen (Wieber); his stepmother Esther; his brother-in-law Gerald Fox; and his parents-in-law, Don Plunkett (Jane), Pete Plunkett, Carrie Gunn, Ray Plunkett, Phil Plunkett (Irene), Gordon Plunkett (Bonnie), Eileen "Eine" Thelen, Nancy Schrauben and Jon Arendsen.
He is survived by: his wife Pat; his children, Mark (Anne) of Freedom, WI, Tom of Lansing, Vicki Buckley (Erik) of Westphalia and Jim (Trish) of Grand Ledge; his grandchildren, Mitchell, Brandt, Nathan Buckley, Ryan, Beth and Jamie Thelen; his siblings, Elaine Fox, Charles (Sue), Steve (Mary Lou), Alan (Mary) and Luke Thelen; and his parents-in-law, Marilyn Sohn (Ken), Gerald Gunn, Rosie Plunkett, Shirley Smith (Stan), Dale Plunkett (Marion), Alden "Bud" Thelen, Lynda Plunkett, Jack Bedenbender (Nancy), Patricia Leik (Francis), Jan Maxwell, Betty Peters (Joe), Gary Schrauben, Susan Arendsen, Debbie Bedenbender and Sheila Kemp (Steve).
