It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerome Edward Smith of Westphalia, Michigan, who passed away on March 28, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Smith and Antoinette Smith; his son-in-law Gregg Platte; his great grandchild Joseph Michael Brown; his siblings, Carl (Rose), Delbert (Roselyn), Jimmy Smith, Loretta Thelen (Alvin), Joann Thelen (Ernie) and Violia Fedewa (Francis); his parents-in-law, Carl and Laurene Thelen; and his brothers-in-law, Gerald Fedewa, Marvin Schafer, John Seay, Joe Houska, Dale Feldpausch and Ron Schneider.
He is survived by: his wife Carlene; his children, Geralyn Trierweiler (Terry), Shelly Spohn (Steve), Debbie Platte, Cheryl Smith (Jack), Denise Cook, Chris Smith (Todd), Kathy Channell (Ryan), Beth Thelen (Fran), MaryKay Weber (Kurt), Doug Smith (Brenda) and Jerome Smith Jr. (Kim); and his sisters, Mary Schafer, Lucille Fedewa, Marilyn Smith, Joyce Houska, Diane Kusnier (John), Mary Jane Feldpausch, Donna Seay, Eileen Schneider, Judy Cameron (Bruce) and Lynn Thelen (Janet). He is also survived by thirty-five grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren.
