It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rick Hertz in Westland, Michigan, who passed away on February 5, 2025, at the age of 53, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rick Hertz to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Hertz and Bonalyn Hertz (Reiher); and his sister Sarah Briggs. He is survived by: his sisters, Melissa Hertz of Belleville, MI and Amy Baylon (Andrew) of Adrian, MI; his nieces and nephews, Sydney Brewer (Austin) of Kansas City, MO, Kyle Cooley of Seattle, WA, Alexandria Briggs of Clarkston, MI, Zane Baylon of Adrian, MI, Jacob Briggs of Brighton, MI and Nicholas Briggs of Milford, MI; and his friend Randy Cooley of Canton, MI. He is also survived by many neighbors and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the David C Brown Funeral Home (460 E Huron River Dr, Belleville, MI 48111). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Soop Cemetery (49250 Denton Rd, Van Buren Twp, MI 48111).
In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to the Wayne-Westland.
