Catherine Loretta Bates Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 11, 2024, at the age of 98, Catherine Loretta Bates of Westland, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jeff Thurmond and Ola Mae Scantlin; her husband Coy M. Bates; her children, Jersma Bates, Robert Bates and Jennifer Lucas (Jim); and her sister Florence Ann.
She is survived by: her children, Coy Ann Kommander (Fred), Thomas, James Bates (Sue), Kay Mack and Vicki Robinson (late Ralph). She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, as well as one great-great-grandchild.
In honor of her memory, the family requests donations be made to either St. Jude Children's Hospital or Henry Ford Hospice in lieu of flowers.
