It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Howard Hanes of West Branch, Michigan, born in Pontiac, Michigan, who passed away on March 21, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney Hanes and Alice Hanes (Winter); his grandchildren, Michael and Andrea; his brothers, Robert and George Hanes; and his brother-in-law Jim Rae.
He is survived by: his wife Barb Hanes of West Branch; his daughters, Cheryl Fransee (Bob) of Prescott, Tammy Steinbrunner (Chris) of Goshen, IN and Jami Newsum (Jimbo) of Ortonville, MI; his grandchildren, DeAnne, Dewey (Nichole), Matthew (Tracy), Alison and Kaden; his great grandchildren, Jada, Abbey, Annie, Makayla, Madison, Marci, Jameson and Julia; and his siblings, Mary Rae of Auburn Hills, MI and Barney Hanes (Sue) of Auburn Hills, MI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
