He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Rathburn and Blanche Rathburn (Schiesler); his son Donald II; and his siblings, Robert, Harold and MaryAnn.
He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Rathburn of West Branch; his son Douglas Rathburn (Michelle); his grandchildren, Alfred Rathburn and Heather Wallowing Bull (Kurt); his great grandchildren, Antionette, Cecelia and Lilith; his daughter-in-law Linda Rathburn of Eastpointe; his brothers, Jerry Rathburn and Richard Rathburn; and his brother-in-law Alfred Evans (Audrey) of West Branch.
