He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Bortle and Viola Bortle (Brown); and his sisters, Betty Johnson and Sandra Gray. He is survived by: his wife Sondra Bortle; his children, Connie Bortle of Flint, MI, Rebecca Goward of Millington, Gary Bortle (Karen) of Gillette, WY and Cheryl Miles (Larry) of West Branch; his grandchildren, Joshua VanWormer (Sara), Jenna VanWormer, Michael Beasly, Nolan Miles (Angela), Chelsea Klobucher (Joe) and Shayne Miles; and his brother Seymour Bortle of Hale, MI. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
