It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lela Henkin of West Bloomfield, Michigan, who passed away on January 20, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Raymond Henkin; her sibling-in-law Fay Siegelman; her siblings, Meyer King (late Clare), Yona Friedman (late Eddie) and Izzy King; and her parents, Benjamin King and Sarah King.

She is survived by: her children, Karen Arbit, Eden Henkin (Susan) and Roger Henkin (Sandy); her grandchildren, Joshua Arbit (Cornelia), David Arbit (Cynthia), Rachel Maybird (Kyle), Rose Henkin, Jonah Henkin, Dr. David Henkin (Alison) and Taylor Drozd (Adam); her great grandchildren, George, Eleanor, Hannah, Max Arbit, Emerson, Wells Maybird and Isaac Henkin; and her sister-in-law Marcia King.

“Karen, Eden, and Roger, I am very saddened to hear about your mom. I am so grateful for all the wonderful times growing up on Braile in Detroit and visiting your family in Southfield. I have very found memories of your mom taking us to the Detroit Institute of Art, the Michigan State Fair, and many other adventures.
