He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Auken and Bernice Van Auken (Slack); his wife Marian; his daughter Donna Dangler; his son-in-law Rick Dangler; and his sister Anna Mae Prak (Andrew).
He is survived by: his children, Wainetta Holmes (Richard) and Danny Van Auken (Carol). He is also survived by six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
