He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl and Elfrieda Maier Sr. (Schuessler); his siblings, Edna Ann Bunte, Carl Maier Jr., Geraldine Maier, Mary Lou Bell, Richard Maier Sr. and Ronald Maier; and his parents-in-law, William and Gladys Thomas.
He is survived by: his spouse Billie Carol Thomas; his children, Theresa Wilson (Mike) of Cadillac and Tim Maier (Brenda) of Cadillac; his grandchildren, Mason Jonker (Katharine), Kyle Jonker, Jacob Maier and Karly Maier; his siblings, Barbara Maier and Theodore "Ted" Maier; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Koop (Brian), Elaine Maier, Gerri Maier, Merrill Bunte and Robert Bell Jr. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
