He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Shilling and Marguerite Shilling (Martin); his brothers, Arnold and Gerald; his parents-in-law, Roy and Betty Phillips; and his sister-in-law Sharon Graham.

He is survived by: his close friend Barbara; his wife Barbara; his children, Thomas of McMillan and Kimberly of Lake Station; his sisters-in-law, Kathie Athey and Jeri Shilling; his grandchildren, Nichole (George), Matthew (Sarah), Luke (Cindy) and Lance (Courtney); and his great grandchild Amelia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
