It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Peggy Jane Straus of Weidman, Michigan, who passed away on December 24, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Richard "Gary" Sprague and Dorothy Sprague (Klumpp); her adoptive mother Lucinda Sprague (Snider); her children, Frederick "Mick" Straus (Leslie) of Weidman, Patricia "Tricia" Cotter (Don) of Mt. Pleasant, Dorothy "Dottie" Fletcher (Jon) of Weidman and Russ Smith (Carrie) of Mt. Pleasant; her grandchildren, Amanda Schafer (Ed) of Mt. Pleasant, Dan Straus of Littlefield Lake, Easton Straus of Weidman, Michelle Cotter of Mt. Pleasant, Sean Cotter of Mt. Pleasant, Kylis Fletcher of Weidman, Kelsey Fletcher of Weidman, Tristan Smith and Chase Smith of Mt. Pleasant; her great grandchildren, Matilda "Tilly" Schafer, Amelia Schafer, Oliver Schafer and Lucille "Lucy" Schafer; her siblings, Michael Sprague (Sue) of Weidman and Sally Bazaire (Jerry) of Arizona; her siblings-in-law, Cal Havekost, Larry Straus, Larry Mead, Nancy Chaplin (Ray), Vera Straus, Margaret Simmer and Irene Straus; her close friend Tom De Vos (Katrien); her husband Frederick Straus; and her siblings-in-law, Pete Straus, Jerry Simmer, Jerry Straus (Katie), Max Straus, Paul Straus (Betty), Art Straus (Ester), Carl Straus (Susie), Carolyn Mead, Ladonna Havekost (John Bunting) and Ernestine Straus.
