He was predeceased by: his parents, Anastacio Martinez and Catalina Martinez (Ibarra); and his siblings, Joe Martinez, Gloria De-Lacruz and Jesse Martinez.

He is survived by: his wife Billie Jo Sprague; his children, Jean Abbott (Thomas), Dale Martinez (Becky), Tammy Recker (Kevin), Richard Martinez (Cindy), Robert Denslow (Val), Terry Martinez, Dale Denslow (Lynn), Donna Bailey (Dennis), Michael Martinez and Allan Martinez; and his siblings, Tony Martinez, Mary Ann Reava (Doug) and Rita Hard. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
