He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis "Frank" and Mary "Minnie" Schmidt (Bogemann); his children, Mary Ann and Stephen Schmidt; his grandchildren, Joseph Schmidt and Jaqulyn Culp; his children-in-law, Leonard Charboneau and Maria Piedad Quellar-Schmidt; and his siblings, Norbert, Francis, William, Helen, Theresa, Mary Beth, Janet Ann and Martha Ann.
He is survived by: his wife Darla Schmidt of Weidman; his children, Michael Schmidt of New Port Richey, FL, Julie Ann Schmidt of Brandon, FL, Theresa Gracia of Valrico, FL, Karen Jarman (Pat) of Mt. Pleasant, Karl Schmidt of Mt. Pleasant, Diane Lyon (Terry) of Clare, Denice Charboneau of Mt. Pleasant and Daniel Schmidt (Vickie) of Brandon, FL; and his sister Kathleen Canel of Eden Prairie, MN.. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
