He was predeceased by: his parents, John Stamm and Izola Stamm; and his brother-in-law Ken VanDenburg. He is survived by: his wife Betty; his grandchildren, Rachel Hall, Phillip Rasnake (Sarah), Michael Rasnake (Michelle) and LeeAnna Pekel; his siblings, Klasiena VanDenburg and Rose Scobey (Bill); and his friends, Sims and John. He is also survived by 15 step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
