He was predeceased by: his parents, Millard "Cricket" McGowan and Twilla McCoy; and his brother Wayne. He is survived by: his sons, Brian McGowan and Richard McGowan; his stepdaughter Deena Gifford-Castillo; his siblings, Carol and Tim; his close friend Claud Hobson (Marge); and his pet Muffin. He is also survived by four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
