He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Shembarger and Isabelle Selters; and his siblings, Norma Soto and Milton Shembarger. He is survived by: his wife Ann; his children, Patti Hambley, Kris Thomas (Cecil) and Diana Auer (Brent); and his grandchildren, Ellen Francis (Joe), Sarah Hambley and Kevin Auer.
