He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Earl Kugler and Twylah Jewell Kugler (Richardson); his in-laws, Amanda and Herb Zschering; and his close friend John McCarthy.
He is survived by: his wife Shirla Kugler; his sons, Nicholas (Erica), Adam (Natalie) and Christopher (Amanda); his grandchildren, Olin, Shia, Avery, Anson, Knox and Edna; his sisters, Karen Kugler and Dodie Keebaugh (Roger); his sisters-in-law, Kaye Harrison and Ruthann Stevens; and his close friends, Dennis Alvis (Ann), Ron Hasso and Mike Artley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the University of Michigan Alzheimer's Disease Center.
