She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Oris Carpenter and Mary Carpenter (Vance); her husband Norman B. Hevel; her sons, William (Helen) of Sterling Heights and James (Amy) of Orland Park; her grandchildren, Matthew, Elliot, Megan, Derek and Graham; and her siblings, Robert Carpenter, Dorothy Wood and Helen Wheeler. She was also cherished by three great grandchildren.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the Norman Hevel Scholarship fund.
