He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Sawyers and Illa Sawyers (Johnstone); his wife Alene; his children, Shannon Herrington (Todd), Keith Sawyers and Donald Sawyers (Linda); his grandchildren, Morgan Eckley (Cameron), Hunter Herrington (Carleigh) and Ashley Fischer (Justin); his great grandchildren, Rosalie Eckley and Sawyer Fischer; and his siblings, Illa May Camera, Marylin Mills and Gary Sawyers. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
