He was predeceased by: his parents, Alphus L. "Jake" and Frieda Rufenacht (Aschliman); his wife Vera G. Odum; his brother Carl Tavierne; his sister-in-law Lois; his brother Roger Rufenacht; and his sister-in-law Carol.
He is survived by: his sons, Joel Rufenacht (Pam Wilkes Kauffman), Peter Rufenacht (Carol), Jacob Rufenacht and Ben Rufenacht (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Allison Tripp, Luke Rufenacht, Rachel Rufenacht, Avery Rufenacht, Megan Rufenacht, Noah Rufenacht and Ethan Rufenacht; his great grandchild Melody Vera Mitchell; his stepgrandchildren, Zachariah Wilkes (Catie), Zebediah Wilkes (Brandy) and Jeremiah Wilkes (Ashley); and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Luke Wilkes, Coraline Wilkes, Liam Wilkes and Rowan Wilkes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Waldron District Library, Wright-Waldron Fire Department, or a charity of the donor's choice.
