She was predeceased by: her parents, Nels W. Luoma and Lillian E. Luoma (Huhtala); her husband David J. Kangas; her daughter Ruth E. Kangas; her brothers-in-law, Paul Kangas, Steve Leiphart and Tom Goldsworthy; and her close friend Bob LeBlanc.

She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Slining (Jason) and Karen Kangas; her granddaughters, Lillian, Eleanor and Sylvia Tiziani; her brother Robert Luoma (Christina); and her sisters-in-law, Julie Leiphart and Jane Goldsworthy. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews and cousins.
