He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Mattson and Viola Mattson (Hongisto); and his siblings, Gary, Joyce and Christine.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Lee Nyman; his sons, Jason (Holly) and Justin (Heather); his grandchildren, Carter, Hailee, Alanah and Lynsey; and his sister Julie Harju (Ted). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
