It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laurence Wayne Kangas of Wakefield, Michigan, who passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gust E. Kangas and Lillian Kangas (Manninen); his siblings, Vivian Katapol, Jane Cvengros, Joyce Hession, Bernice Supercynski, Dolores Stefanik, Werner, Keith, Robert "Butchie" and Marvin; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Katapol, Charles Hession, John Stefanik and Florian Supercynski.
He is survived by: his significant other Diane Buc; his daughters, Tanya Tassin (Marc), Kristen King (Steve) and Sarah Roebuck (Joe); his stepchildren, Melvin Pemble (Amy), Alex Buc (Andrea), Shayla Sevcik (Petr) and Jolynn Becker (Brandon); his grandchildren, Julia, Dylan, Abby, Luc, Courtney (Nate), Kaylee, Gabriel, Cyrus, Colleen, Evelyn, Faith, Gianna, Titus, Roman, Lucas, Veronica, Sierra, Pearl and Willow; his great grandchildren, Tucker and Sawyer; his sister Arla Romo (Sulo); and his siblings-in-law, Donald Cvengros and Helen Jakkola Kangas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church (100 W Midland Ave, Ironwood, MI 49938). A memorial service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
