He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Throop and Elsie Throop (Platt); his wife Jean; his grandson Chester Gibby Throop; his son-in-law Frank Serratoni; and his brothers, Jack, Ross, Jerry, Robert and Arthur.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Serratoni of California, Claudia Blamer (Steve) of Fairview, Jane Gardner (Bruce) of Quincy and Tyler Throop (Peggy) of Vestaburg; his grandchildren, Mark Serratoni (Becky), Kara Peck (Eric), Trevor Blamer (Carie), Kyle Gardner (Tara), Kala Sivertsen (Chris), Tiffany Tipton (Joshua), Torey Throop and Tara Throop; and his great grandchildren, Ella, James, Erika, Alisyn, Toby, Kasen, Alivia, Cohen, Harper, Hayden, Hunter and Aiden.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Vestaburg Varsity Baseball Team.
