With solemn reverence, we commemorate Sara Elizabeth Franko (Vassar, Michigan), born in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, whose life came to an end on October 6, 2024 at the age of 99, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John A. Madigan and Sarah A. Madigan (Campbell); her husband Harold Franko; her grandson Dominic Franko; and her siblings, Bernard Madigan (Esther), John Madigan (Mildred), Harvard Madigan (Ruth), George Madigan (Verna), Bernice "Bea" Tavern (Felix "Butts"), Walter Madigan, Charles Madigan (Dorothy), Hugh Madigan (Bette), Mary Madigan and Harry Madigan (Terry).

She is survived by: her sons, Stephen Franko (Lynn), Timothy Franko (Jody), Gregory Franko (Sally), Terrence Franko (Natalie) and Patrick Franko; her grandchildren, Matthew Franko (Rachel), Megan Franko, Drew Franko, Lindsay Ranjbarian (Reza), Lauren Bell (Jason), Jacqueline Franko and Madigan Franko; and her great grandchildren, Alexis Franko, Rayleigh Bell, Rex Ranjbarian, Eli Bell, Lilliana and Leyla Ranjbarian. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, October 13th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, October 14th 2024 at 10:00 AM. A rosary was held on Sunday, October 13th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home Inc. (149 N Main St, Vassar, MI 48768). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Frances X. Cabrini Catholic Church (334 Division St, Vassar, MI 48768).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Frances X. Cabrini Church or the American Cancer Society.
