He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Howard and Mabel Howard; his former wife Beth Howard; his son Henry Howard; and his siblings, Bernard, Lyle, Bob, Norm Howard and Sandra Clausen.
He is survived by: his wife Mabel Clausen of Boyne City; his children, Harlan Howard of Frederick, Jeffrey Howard of Vanderbilt, Darren Zimmerman (Angela Fink) of Eaton Rapids, Kevin Zimmerman of Boyne Falls, Danielle Schmoldt (Dave) of Onaway and LeAnn Howard (Kyle Shelly) of Gaylord; his grandchildren, Christopher, Thereseann, Ryan, Kyrsha, Collin, Olivia, Zach, Hailey, Kiercelyn, Kyah, Ariya, Akshay, Shakti, Isla and Owen; his brother-in-law Courtlan Clausen; and his pet Rusty.
