He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip and Jayneth Harvey, Sr.; and his siblings, Diane Nelson and Angelo Wilkes. He is survived by: his wife Wanda Harvey of Vandalia; his children, Michelle Ward of New Mexico, C. J. Ward (Brooke) of Cassopolis, Daniel Ward (Tyreta) of Niles and Caprice Jackson of Elkhart; his grandchildren, Jada Ward, Laila Ward, Nala Ward, Maliah Ward, Amirah Lee, Skyy Ward, Malachi Ward, Trey Ward and Zyan Ward; and his brothers, Harold Nelson of Vandalia and Jerome Nelson (Carla) of Cassopolis. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
