He was predeceased by: his son Joel; his parents, James Vondett and Emma Vondett; and his siblings, Jack, Helen Schultheis (George), Bob, Frances Fritz (Warren), Virginia Peracchio (Arthur), Henry (Shirley) and Bette Fritz (William).

He is survived by: his wife Janet; and his children, David (Iole), Kristy Decker (Jonathan) and Robert (Fran). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
