He is survived by: his children, Patricia Hofmeister (David), Renea Tarzwell (Rod), Sue O'Neil (Rob) and Ron Balzer (Ann); his grandchildren, Amy Hofmeister, Karen Habte (Melaku), Amy Tietz (Doug), Steve Tarzwell (Andrea), Sara Mastie (Nathan), Brandon Lupp (Cortney), Jeremy Lupp (Lorie), Janelle Estelle (John), Samuel Balzer (Haley), Andrew Balzer and Danielle Balzer; his stepgrandchildren, Matthew O'Neil and Mallorie O'Neil; his great grandchildren, Joshua, Ashley, Lindsay Hofmeister, Edward, Katie Tietz, Grace, Kyle Mastie, Sydney, Sawyer Lupp, Lily Lupp, Ezra, Ella Estelle and Rhett Balzer; his sister Esther Menzel; and his wife Frances (Strieter).
