He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Ewald and Susan Ewald (Schoen); his stepsons, Raymond Jackson and Brian Jackson; and his siblings, Lydia Seeley, Mary Berry, Alfred Ewald, Mabel Marker, Mildred Nestell, Alvin Ewald, Elfrieda Guinther and Edward Ewald.
He is survived by: his wife Vida Holzwart; his sons, Randall (Forlinda) and Brian Ewald (Elaine) of Caro; his brother Clarence Ewald (Dotsie); and his grandchildren, Mark Ewald, Margaret Ewald, Nicholas Ewald, Michael Ewald, Jared Ewald, Christa Ewald, Jessica Jackson, Danielle Jackson and Nicole Prime (Ben). He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
