It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph P. Sakon Jr. of Unionville, Michigan, born in Akron, Michigan, who passed away on March 2, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Sakon, and Anna Sakon, Sr. (Koepf); his wife Rose "Cookie" Mihacsi; his siblings, Richard Sakon, JoAnn Collins, Geraldine Binder and Donald Francis Sakon; his son-in-law Timothy Bursick; and his stepgrandson Brandon Thompson.
He is survived by: his children, Allen Sakon (Lorrie), Diane Finkbeiner (Roger), Karen Thompson, II (John) and Don Sakon (Shelly); his great-aunt Annie Alatalo; his siblings, Linda O'Hare (Mike), John Sakon and Anthony Sakon (Cindy); his siblings-in-law, Sally Sakon, Marge Mihacsi and Ken Billingsley; and his friend Diane Hoppe. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren.
