It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Wilber Ewald of Unionville, Michigan, who passed away on December 14, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Loren Ewald and Grace Ewald (Rhodes); his wife Edith E. Schuch; his in-laws, Frank and Elizabeth Schuch; and his brother Duane Ewald.
He is survived by: his children, Joanne Hills (David) of Fairgrove, Cindy Coppolino (Bernard) of Saginaw, Christine Moore (Kenneth) of Saginaw, Mark Ewald (Linnaea) of Unionville, Lynn Ewald (Lynda) of Unionville, Jamie Ewald (LizBeth) of Midland, Jody Smith (Dale) of Sanford and Kyle Ewald (Tracy) of Hemlock; and his grandchildren, Nicole (Wayne), Tracey (Jason), Tara (Brian), Laura (Edward), Joseph, Michael, Kenneth, Jr. (Isabel), Kevin (Alyssa), Samantha (Mike), Stacie, Nathan (Amanda), Chelsey (Seth), Ashley, Haley, Hayden (Lauren), Dustin (Missy), Courtney (Robert), Cody (Natalie) and Kennedy. He is also survived by 24 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church (6356 Center St, Unionville, MI 48767).
Memorial donations may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
