He is survived by: his sons, Gerald DeSimpelaere, Jr. and Edward DeSimpelaere (Lori Briggs); and his friends, Mark Jacoby (Deana) and Tim Roberts. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews.
