He is survived by: his wife Gladys Torrez; his children, Frank Chavez (Robin), Carla Chavez, Anna Rabie (Brian) and Mary Simerson (Galen); and his grandchildren, Frank Chavez Jr. (Laura), Steve Chavez (Katy), Theresa Chavez, Jen Rawls (Dan), Jason Rabie and Jeremy Rabie. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, several cousins and dear friends.
