He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Wellman and Barbara Wellman (Upthegrove); his brothers, David, Joseph and Mark; and his nephew Matthew.

He is survived by: his wife Katherine Baum; his stepchildren, Andrew Ferns and Ayla Ferns (Chris); and his siblings, Betty, Tom, Ray, Mike and Ron. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
