He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Lawie and Muriel Lawie (Moyer); his wife Anne L. Hodges; and his siblings, Beverly Provost, Norma Weber and Lawrence Lawie.
He is survived by: his children, James "Jim" Lawie of Muskegon, Michael Lawie (Shelley) of Muskegon, Kathy Carpenter (Pat Somerville) of Muskegon, Jackie Somerville (Kirk) of Muskegon and Joni Hall (Troy) of Muskegon; and his brother Richard Lawie of Grand Rapids. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
