He was predeceased by: his parents, George Milford and Gertrude Pontius (Glover); his stepdaughters, Billie L. Omland and Barabra J. Prouse; and his granddaughter Heather L. Payne.
He is survived by: his son Michael J. Pontius (Ann) of Holland; and his stepdaughters, Susan K. Payne (John) of Kalamazoo and Laura A. Strong of Florida. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Twin Lake Community Church or Twin Lake Historical Society in lieu of flowers.
