He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Walrad and Iva Walrad (Benner). He is survived by: his wife Irene Ayotte; his children, John J. (Sidney Klingler), Jennifer, Bruce (Katheryn) and Pegine (Robert Rothenberg); his grandchildren, Veronica, Christina, Brian, James Walrad, Rowan Walrad-Rothenberg, Connie Kennedy (Matt) and Jaclyn Millard (Ralph Valenzuela); and his great grandchildren, Susannah and Ian Kennedy.
