He was predeceased by: his close friend Francis William Shea. He is survived by: his wife Linda Anne (Baker); his close friends, Chris Shea and Brian Shea; his children, Kurt Shea, Danette Shea Boldt, Jennifer, Zachary and Leah; and also Maureen McWilliams. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org) in honor of James P. Shea.
