She was predeceased by: her sister Nancy Matthews. She is survived by: her daughters, Laura Schaeffer, Diane Tarr and Barbara Friedman; her grandchildren, Joshua Schaeffer, Jessica Friedman, Erica Alves (Jeffrey), Danielle Friedman, Nick and Adam Friedman; and her great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Skyler, Aaliyah, Hunter and Gabriella.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Joan's memory.
