He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Gokey and Esther Gokey (Marshall); his daughter Koreen Egler; his former wife Nancy Gokey; and his niece Melissa Gokey.
He is survived by: his significant other Linda Gokey of Traverse City; his sons, Pete and Mark Gokey; his brothers, Bob Gokey (Marie) of Idaho, Gary Gokey (Elaine) of Harbor Springs, Bernie Gokey (Peggy) of Bliss, Dick Gokey (late Sherry) of Delaware, Michael "Mick" Gokey of Kansas and Todd Gokey; and his nephew Christopher Gokey. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
