He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Novak and Helen Novak (Karpinski); and his brother Tom Novak. He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Joel Novak (Melissa) and Julie Grist; his grandchildren, Landon (Tristina), Preston, Seth, Nathan and Kyle; and his great grandchildren, Devin, MiKaya and Maverick.

Memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice House in Venice, Florida.
